Mixing & Application Instructions

  • Add the required amount of clean water to a mixing container. Gradually add
    the powder while stirring continuously until a lump-free paste is formed. Let
    the mixture stand for 5 minutes, then remix before application. Apply using a
    notched trowel. Ensure good coverage and press tiles firmly into adhesive.

1. Scope of Work

This method statement describes the process and procedures for the application
of Marfix Pool Adhesive for fixing tiles in swimming pools. It includes surface
preparation, mixing, application, and curing procedures to ensure quality and
durability.

2. Materials and Equipment

• Measuring bucket

3. Surface Preparation

Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or other contaminants.
Repair any cracks or holes and ensure the surface is level. Dampen the surface
if necessary, but avoid standing water.

4. Mixing Procedure

1. Pour approximately 3.5–4.5 liters of clean water into a mixing container.
2. Gradually add the adhesive powder while continuously mixing.

4. Surface Preparation

• Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, and loose particles.

• Uneven surfaces must be leveled using appropriate screed or leveling compound.

• Dampen porous substrates with clean water before application.

5. Mixing Instructions

• Add 4.5 – 5.5 liters of clean water into a clean bucket.

• Slowly add the 20 kg Mar Rish adhesive powder while mixing.

• Mix using a drill with paddle for 3–5 minutes until a lump-free, uniform paste is achieved.

• Allow the mix to rest for 3 minutes, then remix briefly before use. 

6. Application Procedure

• Apply the adhesive onto the surface using the notched trowel.

• Spread evenly and comb in straight lines for uniform thickness.

• Place tiles onto the adhesive bed within the open time (15–20 minutes).

• Press and twist tiles slightly to ensure full contact with the adhesive.

• Adjust tiles using a rubber mallet and check level alignment.

7. Cleaning and Curing

• Remove excess adhesive from tile surfaces before it sets.

• Do not disturb tiles for at least 24 hours to allow proper curing.

• Protect the tiling from water and mechanical stress during curing.
